Baseball Recap: York Gets the Win

While York's win against Freeport wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Falcons 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Robbie Hanscom, who fired off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

Hanscom wasn't the only one working in the home run department: York lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Freeport, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The Capers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
