Recap: Kearny Christian Academy vs. American Christian School
Kearny Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by American Christian School on the road and fell 85-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kearny Christian Academy in their matchups with American Christian School: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Kearny Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bryan Garcia scored 35 points. It was the first time this season that Garcia scored 15 or more points.
It was another big night for Caleb Ritchwood, who scored 49 points for American Christian School. Ritchwood is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dennis Blake, who scored ten points.
Kearny Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for American Christian School, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kearny Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Veritas Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on February 12th. As for American Christian School, they will square off against Abundant Life Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. American Christian School will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Abundant Life Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
