Softball Game Preview: Hornell Red Raiders vs. Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines

Hornell is 1-6 against Bolivar-Richburg since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Raiders will square off against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Hornell has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hornell came up short against Warsaw on Thursday, falling 14-2. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Bolivar-Richburg was able to grind out a solid win over Fillmore on Thursday, taking the game 9-4. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Kylee Whiting spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Teegan Sibble was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Cassidy Stives was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The win got Bolivar-Richburg back to even at 5-5. As for Hornell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
