Addison Hudnall spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Emerson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Lipsky, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Lipsky posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another was Amilee Stapp, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Lipsky wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Emerson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Memorial entered their tilt with Independence on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Knights 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Megan Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Zoey Chasko and Ayden King did most of the damage at the plate: Chasko scored a run while going 2-for-4, while King scored a run while going 3-for-5. Caiden Coleman was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Memorial's record is now 8-6. As for Emerson, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-6.

Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Emerson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Emerson might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Memorial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Emerson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
