Baseball Game Preview: Frankfort Panthers vs. Franklin County Flyers

Frankfort hasn't had much luck against Franklin County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Flyers at 6:00 p.m.

Frankfort is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Henry Clay on Friday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since March 21st.

Jonathan Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Franklin County earned an 11-6 victory over Walton-Verona on Saturday.

Franklin County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Frankfort might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Franklin County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
