            Football Recap: Carbon Hill Bulldogs vs. Winfield Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            
Carbon Hill lost against Winfield back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The Bulldogs took a  blow against the Pirates, falling  61-13. The Bulldogs gained 71 more yards on the day, but it was the Pirates that made the best use of them.
 Carbon Hill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jake Gilreath, who rushed for 82 yards and one  touchdown. Another player making a difference was  Marcus Pierce, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one  TD.
 Winfield was led to victory by  Kyson Key and  Garret Beasley.  Key rushed for 81 yards and a pair of  scores on only six carries, while  Beasley picked up 58 receiving yards and one  touchdown. That's the most  receiving yards  Beasley has posted since back in August of 2024.
This is the second loss in a row for Carbon Hill and  nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Winfield, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the  victory, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Carbon Hill will  take on  rival Phil Campbell  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Winfield is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Oakman  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
