The Fowler Redcats will take on the Reedley Pirates in a tournament on Monday. The timing is sure in Fowler's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Reedley has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Fowler's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Ridgeview. The result was nothing new for the Redcats, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ridgeview's batters probably weren't too happy with Izzy Lopez, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up a single walk). Lopez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Monis and Alexis Alvarado did most of the damage at the plate: Monis went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple, while Alvarado scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave Monis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andreya Mendoza, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Reedley made easy work of Orange Cove on Saturday and carried off a 9-3 win.
Jamilah Taylor was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kristyn Gordon, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Reedley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Fowler has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Reedley, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fowler hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. However, it's not like Reedley struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fowler was able to grind out a solid victory over Reedley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 11-6. Will the Redcats repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
