Basketball Game Preview: Sage Ridge Scorpions vs. enCompass Academy Explorers

The Sage Ridge Scorpions will take on the enCompass Academy Explorers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Sage Ridge and four for enCompass Academy.

On Saturday, Sage Ridge came up short against Pyramid Lake and fell 63-52.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Taylor Sullins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Dicante, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, enCompass Academy played a tough matchup back in January in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-16 loss at the hands of Oasis Academy. The Explorers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.

Sage Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for enCompass Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Sage Ridge against enCompass Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 58-18 victory. Does Sage Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will enCompass Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
