After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Murray, Ringgold was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Sonoraville Phoenix by a score of 41-34. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their three-point performance the contest before.
Several Phoenix players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chaz Pate, who threw for 290 yards and three TDs. Pate is becoming a predictor of Sonoraville's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is 4-2 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Langston Butler was Pate's top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Ringgold's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sonoraville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
