Baseball Recap: Central Arkansas Christian Takes a Loss

Central Arkansas Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Searcy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Searcy Lions.

Brady McEntyre was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

At the plate, Mason Welsh made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jack Bingenheimer, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Central Arkansas Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Searcy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Central Arkansas Christian will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Sheridan at 10:00 a.m. As for Searcy, they will face off against Central Arkansas Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
