Basketball Game Preview: Birdville Hawks vs. Denton Broncos

The Birdville Hawks will head out to face off against the Denton Broncos at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Birdville challenged Argyle on Saturday. Birdville was dealt a 69-27 defeat at the hands of Argyle. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Denton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 59-15 loss at the hands of Ryan. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 809th, while the Raiders are ranked 49th).

Denton's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Birdville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Birdville came up short against Denton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 44-38. Can Birdville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
