Basketball Recap: Wayne Valley Beats Ramsey for Their Third Straight Victory

A well-balanced attack led Wayne Valley over Ramsey in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The Wayne Valley Indians took down the Ramsey Rams 59-41. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Wayne Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zachary Derstine, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Derstine's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rubino, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Wayne Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Ramsey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Wayne Valley will face off against Passaic Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ramsey, they will welcome Pascack Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pascack Hills will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ramsey surely won't give up without a fight.
