Basketball Game Preview: Streamwood Sabres vs. South Elgin Storm

Streamwood hasn't had much luck against South Elgin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Streamwood Sabres will look to defend their home court against the South Elgin Storm at 7:00 p.m. Streamwood will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Streamwood beat Jacobs 58-52.

Streamwood found their leader in sophomore Ayumi Ishikawa, who went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points in addition to six steals and five assists. The game was Ishikawa's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ronaja Stewart, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, South Elgin earned a 47-34 victory over Schaumburg on Tuesday.

Streamwood has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for South Elgin, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9.
