Baseball Game Preview: Stonewall Jackson Generals vs. Madison County Mountaineers

Stonewall Jackson hasn't had much luck against Madison County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Generals will take on the Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Stonewall Jackson came up short against Page County and fell 5-2.

Stonewall Jackson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Heishman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Madison County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rappahannock County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Rappahannock County by a score of 5-4.

Gage Hooser put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Hooser was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Fox Montgomery made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Stonewall Jackson's record now sits at 1-15. As for Madison County, their record is now 1-18.

Everything went Stonewall Jackson's way against Madison County in their previous matchup back in April, as Stonewall Jackson made off with a 16-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
