Baseball Recap: Holy Cross Comes Up Short

Holy Cross entered their game against Western Wayne on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Crusaders took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Kyle Cortazar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Holy Cross now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Western Wayne, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.
