Basketball Game Preview: Verdigris Cardinals vs. Inola Longhorns

The Verdigris Cardinals will head out to square off against the Inola Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Verdigris came up short against Vinita and fell 55-43.

Meanwhile, Inola was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 57-53 to Kansas. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Comets are ranked 112th).

Verdigris' loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Inola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Verdigris came up short against Inola in their previous matchup back in January, falling 46-42. Can Verdigris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
