Recap: Incline Highlanders vs. South Tahoe Vikings
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Incline Highlanders ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged South Tahoe out 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tommy Williams went supernova for Incline, shooting 4-for-9 from long range and dropping a double-double on 40 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Combs, who scored 12 points.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ronan Fisher, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Jay Butterfass, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Incline's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for South Tahoe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Incline will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Truckee at 7:30 p.m. Truckee comes in still looking for their first win of the season. South Tahoe will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Yerington at 3:00 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Yerington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
