Basketball Recap: Runyon Kinney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Thomas over Cicero Prep Academy

Fort Thomas entered their matchup against Cicero Prep Academy on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Fort Thomas Apaches fell to the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions 46-40. The Apaches were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Centurions earlier this season, when they won 55-41.

Fort Thomas' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Runyon Kinney, who posted nine points. Kinney has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Channing Wilson was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Fort Thomas' loss dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Cicero Prep Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Fort Thomas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-39 defeat against Valley Lutheran on the 8th.
