Basketball Recap: Stilwell's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Stilwell won the last time they faced Poteau and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Stilwell Indians strolled past the Poteau Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Pirates are ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stilwell has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Poteau, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stilwell will head out to square off against Muldrow at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poteau, they will square off against Panama at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
