It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Big Valley Christian had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stone Ridge Christian Knights, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 10th.

Madyx Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Kailey Rivera was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn MacWilliams, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win snapped Big Valley Christian's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-18 record. As for Stone Ridge Christian, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Big Valley Christian will face off against Buckingham Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Stone Ridge Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
