Volleyball Recap: West Jessamine Beats East Jessamine for Their Fourth Straight Win

West Jessamine and East Jessamine faced off in a cross-town battle on Thursday. The Colts walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Jaguars. Winning may never get old, but the Colts sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

West Jessamine's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Smith, who had 22 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Smith has posted over her last eight matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Crum, who had five digs and five aces.

West Jessamine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

West Jessamine's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for East Jessamine, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

West Jessamine has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Frederick Douglass on the 7th. As for East Jessamine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Wayne County on the 4th.
