Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Palmyra Panthers
The Elmwood-Murdock Knights waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They blew past Palmyra 53-30. Elmwood-Murdock has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Delaney "laney" Frahm was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Brooklyn Mans was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Elmwood-Murdock pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Palmyra, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Elmwood-Murdock will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnson County Central on February 6th. Johnson County Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Elmwood-Murdock is ranked 20th). Palmyra will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pawnee City on February 8th.
