The Luther Prep Phoenix will take on the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Luther Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Catholic Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Phoenix were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hilltoppers on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Phoenix, who have now won three games in a row.

Reid Martin looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Luther Prep is 2-1 when Martin allows one or fewer hits, but 5-12 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Danny Taylor was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Micah Schultz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lake Country Lutheran won against University School of Milwaukee on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Lightning put the hurt on Deerfield with a sharp 9-3 victory. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Christian Johann was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jackson Menzel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Lake Country Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Luther Prep, they pushed their record up to 7-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Luther Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lake Country Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Luther Prep might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Lake Country Lutheran when the teams last played back in May of 2024.
