Volleyball Recap: Barry Western Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Barry Western entered their contest against Augusta Southeastern on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Suns. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Suns when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-10.

Sophie Rennecker paced Barry Western's offense, picking up seven kills. Rennecker got some help from Alysa Bareis and her 16 assists. Rennecker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Barry Western's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Augusta Southeastern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Coming up, Barry Western will take on Abingdon/Avon in a tournament on Saturday. As for Augusta Southeastern, they will take on Westville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
