League recap: Emerald Ridge paces 4A SPSL - South with three wins over past week

4A SPSL - South league recap: 3/20/13

Top honors in the league this week go to Emerald Ridge, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Jaguars beat Olympia 8-1, Beamer 6-4 and Bonney Lake 8-4.

Puyallup trails Emerald Ridge by just games in 4A SPSL - South standings, which means there could be a new first-place team by next week.

The Vikings continue to keep batters at bay this week, surrendering only five hits in the past week, good for best in the league. Puyallup has surrendered a mere eight hits this season in three games.

Eight batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Quinn Rawson, who collected three hits in five at bats for a .600 average.

The Vikings' Quinn Rawson racked up four RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. He now stands at seven RBIs on the season, which puts him first in the league.



Ryan Harris threw a shutout as he led Puyallup to victory over Skyview, 10-0, on Saturday. He pitched five scoreless innings and struck out three, while giving up zero hits.

Jordan Mullins drove in four runners on Tuesday in Spanaway Lake's 19-1 victory over Chief Leschi. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
