Soccer Game Preview: Dunbar vs. Benbrook

Dunbar is 0-10 against Benbrook since March of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will face off against the Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. Dunbar has given up an average of 6.9 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dunbar came up short against Eastern Hills on Tuesday, falling 9-1.

Meanwhile, Benbrook had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 goals) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Benbrook might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Carter-Riverside from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Sydney Chavez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Benbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3-1.

Dunbar suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Benbrook when the teams last played back in February. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
