Volleyball Recap: Commack Comes Up Short

Commack was the 3-0 winner over Newfield when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Commack sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 24-26, 25-21, 18-25, 19-17.

Commack's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Commack will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Connetquot at 5:00 p.m. on October 6. As for Newfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Lindenhurst on the 17th.
