Football Recap: De Leon Skates Past Hico with Ease + How To Watch

There's no place like home for De Leon, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They really took it to the Hico Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-27 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

De Leon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Heston Jobe out in front who threw for 293 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. The Bearcats are undefeated when Jobe posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Colt Schwertner helped Jobe out on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.

De Leon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Bryce Burkeen picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

De Leon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Hico, they moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. De Leon will take on Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will be up against the Bluecats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hico, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
