Volleyball Recap: Onalaska Starts Season with Win on the Road

Onalaska had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Aquinas Blugolds by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For the Hilltoppers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Blugolds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The win didn't come easy: Aquinas scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Makena Mcgarry paced Onalaska's offense, picking up 14 kills. Mcgarry got some help from Mckenzie Bauer and her 44 assists.

Onalaska will take on Pittsville at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Aquinas, they will challenge Mosinee at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blugolds surely won't give up without a fight.
