Football Recap: Kearny Kardinals vs. Fort Lee Bridgemen

Kearny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 49-30 fall against the Fort Lee Bridgemen. The Kardinals lost against the Bridgemen in their previous head to head back in October of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-7 score last time.

Fort Lee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Balbuena out in front who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Balbuena got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 93 yards. Azel Orta made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Kearny's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Fort Lee, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearny will host Cliffside Park on Friday. Cliffside Park will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Kearny surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fort Lee, they will welcome Tenafly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Lee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.8 points per game this season.
