Baseball Game Preview: Deering Rams vs. Marshwood Hawks

Deering hasn't had much luck against Marshwood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rams will challenge the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Deering made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cheverus, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Stags by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Deering saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cal Day, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Marshwood fell victim to Biddeford and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-0. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marshwood fell to 2-1. As for Deering, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Deering might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Marshwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
