Recap: All Saints' Academy Saints vs. International Community Comets
After a string of seven wins, the All Saints' Academy Saints's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of International Community. All Saints' Academy lost against International Community in their previous head to head back in January of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 72-44 score last time.
All Saints' Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dontravious Bell, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Claudarius Bell, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
International Community found their leader in underclassman Paxton Boaz, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Slade Woodruff was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
All Saints' Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for International Community, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.
All Saints' Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Frostproof at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for International Community, International Community and Winter Springs will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Winter Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than International Community in Florida (Winter Springs is ranked 221st, while International Community is ranked 621st).
