Tates Creek extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 12-5. They put the hurt on the Bryan Station Defenders with a sharp 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Alexis Sempsrott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Megan Predmore was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Bazzell, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Tates Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.
As for Bryan Station, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like Tates Creek, Bryan Station also got a great game from a two-way player: Karsyn Rockvoan. On the mound, she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rockvoan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Carrington Clark was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Adrienn Arcure was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tates Creek will welcome Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bryan Station, they will challenge Henry Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
