Basketball Recap: Berwick Drops Highest Score of Season Against Centerville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berwick). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 63-36 win over the Centerville Bulldogs. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Berwick found their leader in sophomore Azyria Garrison, who dropped a double-double with 36 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garrison has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tre'Onna Chapman, who posted six points and six steals.

Berwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Centerville lost, don't look at D'Irieyah Mitchell. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Mitchell continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Berwick is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.6 points over those games. As for Centerville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
