Volleyball Recap: Merino Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Alamosa

Merino faced Alamosa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams fell just short of the Mean Moose by a score of 2-1. That makes it the first time this season the Rams have let down their home crowd.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Merino sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 23-25, 15-10.

Merino's loss dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Alamosa, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-1.

Merino wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Wiggins on the 18th. As for Alamosa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lamar on the 18th.
