Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Eastern's 14th in Last 17 Outings

Eastern never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Southern Tornadoes 10-0. Considering the Eagles have won 14 matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Edwards was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. Edwards was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Eastern got a massive performance out of Brady Rockhold, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Rockhold has posted since back in April of 2024. Rohwan Gilmore was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Eastern is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Southern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern will square off against Athens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern, they will host Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
