Wilson Hall has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will venture away from home to face off against the Florence Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Wilson Hall was able to grind out a solid win over Laurence Manning Academy, taking the game 3-1.
In the three sets Wilson Hall was on fire: they won each by at least nine points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 20-25, 25-15.
Wilson Hall's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mckenzie Gray Mills, who had 26 digs. Mills is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Wells, who had eight aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Wilson Hall was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Meanwhile, Florence Christian posted their biggest victory since October 17, 2023 two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Williamsburg Academy as Florence Christian made off with a 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-23.
Wilson Hall's record now sits at 17-4. As for Florence Christian, their record now sits at 4-6.
Wilson Hall was able to grind out a solid victory over Florence Christian when the teams last played back in August, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilson Hall since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
