Volleyball Recap: Coral Springs Comes Up Short

After flying high against Coral Glades last Thursday, Coral Springs came back down to earth. The Coral Springs Colts fell just short of the Taravella Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Coral Springs might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Taravella: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.

Joel Jobi paced Coral Springs' offense, picking up 22 kills. Jobi got some help from Mickinson Jean-Mary and his 38 assists. Finally, Daziano Barrett-Daly kept Coral Springs' defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Coral Springs now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Taravella, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Springs will challenge Flanagan at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Coral Springs is facing Flanagan at the right time seeing as Flanagan is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Taravella, they will face off against Fort Lauderdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
