Football Game Preview: Montoursville Warriors vs. Central Mountain Wildcats

The Montoursville Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Central Mountain Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montoursville's defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so Central Mountain's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Montoursville's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Central Columbia, posting a 52-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won six in a row.

Christian Banks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 118 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another back making a difference was Hayden Harvey, who rushed for 95 yards and one score on only six carries.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Central Mountain and Shikellamy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Wildcats took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves.

Montoursville's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Central Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Montoursville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 233 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Central Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 78.3 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Montoursville against Central Mountain in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 44-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
