Softball Recap: Palo Alto's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Palo Alto dropped their record down to 11-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Santa Clara Bruins, falling 14-4. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bruins earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Kendall Butler was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor Wells, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Santa Clara, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. Considering they have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Santa Clara's side, Chloe Boyes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Boyes has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Marley Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

As of now, neither Palo Alto nor Santa Clara have any future games scheduled.
