Softball Recap: Gallatin Takes Down Ranked Skyview

Gallatin faced Skyview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Raptors never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Raptors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Olivia Klemann made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Zoe Bassham was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Adyson Ryles was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Gallatin pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Skyview, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gallatin beat the Falcons by a score of 13-9 on Thursday.
