Basketball Recap: Parkview Victorious

After only 25 points in their last contest, Parkview made sure to put some points up on the board against Greater Atlanta Christian on Saturday. The Parkview Panthers walked away with a 59-46 victory over the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Spartans back in November of 2024, they had to take a 47-43 defeat.

It was another big night for Kennedi Benton, who posted 20 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaden Cooper, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points.

Parkview was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greater Atlanta Christian only racked up two assists.

Greater Atlanta Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dru Jeckewicz, who scored 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, and Asia Johnson, who had 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaymee Carter, who put up five points.

Parkview's record now sits at 14-7. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Parkview has already played their next matchup (against Berkmar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Greater Atlanta Christian will welcome Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greater Atlanta Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
