Basketball Recap: Washburn Comes Up Short

If Washburn was riding high fresh off their 77-46 takedown of Lac Courte Oreilles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Washburn Castle Guards came up short against the Mellen Granite Diggers on Tuesday, falling 54-32. The match marked the Castle Guards' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Washburn's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mellen, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Washburn will square off against Phillips at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mellen, they will head out on the road to face off against Butternut at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
