Gloucester was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jamestown Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-0  back in September.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 23-25,  25-6.
 Jamestown was led to victory by  Kira Van Deusen and  Bahar Stump.  Van Deusen  had 29  digs and three  aces, while  Stump  had nine  aces and three  digs. With that strong performance,  Stump is now averaging an impressive 5  aces per game.  Peyton Tilley was another key player,  getting five  digs and three  aces.
Gloucester's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Jamestown, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record  this season.
 Gloucester and Jamestown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Dukes (ranked 385th) will meet Tabb (ranked 161st)  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile,  Jamestown will  challenge  Grafton  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday with a big rank  disadvantage  (156 vs. 41).
