Softball Game Preview: Western Hills Wolverines vs. Frankfort Panthers

Western Hills is a perfect 10-0 against Frankfort since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Frankfort took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Western Hills, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Western Hills turned things around against Estill County on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Engineers by a score of 7-3.

Alli Jones made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Makayla Young was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Frankfort lost 11-1 to Bethlehem on Saturday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Western Hills' victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Everything went Western Hills' way against Frankfort in their previous matchup last Thursday, as Western Hills made off with a 13-3 win. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
