Shadow Mountain takes loss despite strong efforts from Tate Newport and Pierce Rogers

Recap: Shadow Mountain Matadors vs. Moon Valley Rockets
The Shadow Mountain Matadors suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 60-40 loss at the hands of Moon Valley. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Shadow Mountain of the 65-42 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Shadow Mountain's loss came despite strong showings from Pierce Rogers and Tate Newport. Rogers scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Newport scored nine points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Shadow Mountain's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-14. As for Moon Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Shadow Mountain will head out on the road to challenge Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yuma is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Moon Valley, they will be playing at home against Paradise Honors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Paradise Honors focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
