Volleyball Recap: Marshall Beats Athens for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Marshall had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Athens Indians with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Brynn Johnson paced Marshall's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson got some help from Addie Carden and her 13 assists. Carden was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 25-8-1. As for Athens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.

Marshall has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bronson on the 9th. Athens has also already played their next matchup (against Calhoun Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
