Preview: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. St. John Paul II Panthers

Liberty County is 3-0 against St. John Paul II since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Liberty County Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the St. John Paul II Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. St. John Paul II took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty County, who comes in off a win.

Liberty County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Wewahitchka 49-28. Given Liberty County's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Wewahitchka is ranked 619th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Liberty County relied on the efforts of Ella'ann Childs, who scored 12 points, and Caleigh Peddie, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Peddie's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Haven Davis was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Meanwhile, St. John Paul II was beaten by Godby 53-12 on Saturday. St. John Paul II was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-5.

Liberty County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for St. John Paul II, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Liberty County took their win against St. John Paul II in their previous meeting last Friday by a conclusive 36-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
