Softball Preview: Minnechaug Regional Falcons vs. Longmeadow Lancers

Minnechaug Regional has gone a perfect 10-0 against Longmeadow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Minnechaug Regional came out on top against South Hadley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Falcons walked away with a 5-1 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

The team relied heavily on Veronica Ouimet, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Peyman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Longmeadow ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday.
