Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Frederick couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to the Mead Mavericks on the road by a 56-37 margin on Friday. The Golden Eagles' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Frederick still got an impressive performance from Kaylee Gardner, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals. That's the most boards Gardner has posted since back in December of 2024.

Mead got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elena Gomez out in front who went 5-for-9 en route to 19 points. Caroline Kron was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Frederick's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Mead, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Frederick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mead, they have already played their next matchup, a 44-30 loss against Mullen on the 13th.
